2.007 Competition Robot

This is my 2.008 Robot, the class that inspired FIRST Robotics. As someone who did FTC in high school, it was really cool to be a part of the class that started it all! During my final milestone examination/presentation for my robot, it exploded while I was demo-ing it. Miraculously, I ended up placing in the top 10 out of the 190+ competing robots in the class. I even got an award at the class for my bold and sketchy design that managed to actually do well in competition.

This year's challenge was "Home Alone" themed in line with our at-home Covid experiences. Each part was made manually since we didn't have access to machinery like in years prior.

My main mechanism was a scissor lift that allowed my robot to complete many of the tasks such as lifting a spring loaded object a foot in the air, cutting strings, and going down ziplines. In its autonomous period, I coded it to go up to the 3rd floor of the board, extend, and knock down some of the objects for points.
